About Us
The Future Histories podcast (futurehistories.today; for English episodes only see: futurehistories-international.com) started in 2019 with the goal of 'expanding our idea of the future' by fostering critical conversations on alternative political economies, democratic planning, political ecology, political theory, philosophy of technology and more. This transdisciplinary investigation shares a common ground in that all topics discussed in Future Histories are of central importance for the renegotiation of imaginaries of the future and the collective development of desirable worlds to come.
Over the years, a large and vibrant network has emerged around Future Histories, comprising not only the more than 200 guests interviewed for the podcast (as of August 2026), but also a wide array of relations with institutions, collaborators, and an engaged audience. The podcast has served as a vehicel to build bridges between different thematic threads, epistemic and academic communities, and disciplinary fields.
The Future Histories LAB builds on these efforts. It aims at transforming the ideas explored in the Future Histories podcast into collaborative, practice-oriented projects, creating a unique space for radical imagination and practical experimentation around postcapitalist construction.
The Future Histories LAB develops research projects, workshops, publications, and artistic formats that explore alternative futures and push for the structural change we so desperately need.
